My Story

When my grandfather gave me the journal about my ancestor Robert's incredible and adventurous trek across the world, it captured my imagination, and bringing his story of joy, heartbreak, and courage to life became a passion for me. My journey to becoming a published author has been filled with discovery. The most rewarding moments are when I hear from readers how much they love and are engaged with Robert's story.

I wrote the series for readers ages 9 and up because I loved the idea of getting young readers excited about a true survival tale. Especially one set during such an amazing time, the Age of Sail.

Since publishing the first two novels in the "Runaway At Sea" series, I have had lots of fun creating workbooks and fun activity-based resources for students and an online writing course for grown-ups.

In my non-work time, I enjoy spending time with my amazing family and being outside, staying active as much as possible.

I look forward to creating more historical fiction novels, including further adventures in Robert's life, and other riveting personal accounts throughout history.
